If your household income is below $67,000 per year (Tax year 2024), you may qualify to have your taxes prepared and filed free by trained volunteers through the VITA program.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has provided free tax preparation services through local community coalitions for households like yours since the early 1970s to ensure the distribution of EITC. IRS certified volunteers are trained to prepare basic tax returns. We work to make sure that your receive all of the tax credits you qualify for, including EITC; because our volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS, you know that we will do our best to make sure that your taxes are filed quickly, correctly, confidentially, and securely.

EITC is a refundable federal tax credit of up to a few thousand dollars. Eligibility and dollar amount depend on the household's filing status, income, age, and number of qualifying dependants. Qualifying workers must also be U.S. citizens of resident aliens, and have worked full- or part- time during the year. Households which qualify for the EITC may also be eligible for the child tax credit and other credits.
