Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that provides education, nutrition, health, and social services to income eligible preschool children and their families. It is one of the most successful federal programs ever created.  Head Start helps prepare children to enter kindergarten as it embraces families and encourages them to achieve a better life.

KI BOIS Head Start is a part of KI BOIS Community Action Foundation, Inc., a private non-profit organization.  KI BOIS Head Start centers are located throughout Adair, Cherokee, Latimer, LeFlore, Haskell, McIntosh, Pittsburg, and Sequoyah counties.  KI BOIS Head Start is funded to serve 1,508 children.
